Cleaning and Handling

Please take great care when you handle glass. Personal protective equipment is very important - make sure to wear suitable gloves and appropriate footwear, plus safety goggles or a face shield. Always handle glass with care and never break or bend glass with bare hands.

How to identify the UV-coated side if the inkjet printing is cut off?

Perform a scratch test – try scratching the edge of the glass that will be hidden by the rabbet of the frame - UV coated side will scratch more easily than the other side. Use the small stickers provided in the envelope in the box to mark the uncoated side of your glass sheet off-cuts.

Remember! Always frame your artworks with the UV-coated side facing the artwork.

How can I clean Artglass AR 99 glazing?

Artglass anti-reflective glass products can be cleaned like regular glass, but appropriate care should be taken not to create visible scratches on the glass surface.

For glass cleaning, use Artglass microfiber or any other soft and clean cloth. To avoid scratching, make sure the cloth is clean and there are no abrasive contaminations on the glass.

Spray a small amount of a Groglass glass cleaner, or any other cleaner approved by Groglass, on the cloth. To avoid overspraying, don’t spray the cleaner directly on the glass.

Remember! Do NOT use alkaline cleaners, such as sodium hydroxide, ammonia, acid, silicone or fluoride-containing cleaners, general purpose cleaners, dishwashing detergents, or scratching or abrasive cleaners.

Press the cloth against the glass and clean in round, circular motions. After, wipe the glass surface with the dry section of the cloth to avoid any liquid stains.

How can I cut Artglass AR 99 product to size?

Any glass cutter you use for cutting regular glass products is suitable for cutting Artglass products.

We recommend using cutting wheels with at least a 135 degree angle. Carbide cutting wheels will last longer than steel-hardened. Using cutting oil is optional.

When using a wall glass cutter, be careful and use a non-slippery pad between the glass and the wall.
